Whether you have an apartment or a house, when it comes to decorating, it can seem overwhelming. I just recently moved and I wanted a different look. These are the steps on how to decorate that I came up with.
4 Steps On How To Decorate
Choose A room
Usually what I do is start with my living room. It’s a common place that everyone likes to gather. At least you will have it done so if you do end up having company you’ll have a place for them to be while you’re decorating the rest of your home.
Get ideas
I personally love looking for ideas on different apps or websites. This is the best kind of research especially if you’re decorating on a budget. You will find hacks to decorate your room the way you would like but for a more reasonable price.
Think about what you want your room to look like. Or the type of feeling you want to feel or you want your guests to feel when entering the room.
Here are some things I thought of:
- Paint colors
- Furniture
- Accent decor like pillows, plants, or lamps
This will make the next step on how to decorate so much easier!
Start shopping
Who doesn’t like to spend money and get new stuff? But does it necessarily have to be new? Shop your home first to see what you can reuse.
Unless you have exactly what you want in mind I suggest you go to yard sales, or start shopping at discount stores to see what you can get at an affordable price. There is nothing wrong with dupes as long as they are good quality.
If you’re someone who doesn’t have time to go out and shop, order online.
Start decorating
This is the fun part!
This is the part where you get express yourself. Yes it may take some work but the feeling of having your room finished will overpower the amount of time it took to put it together. It’s like a breath of fresh air.
