One of the first things that you notice, that fall is here, is the change in temperature. The air becomes more cooler and crisper. The leaves start to change and the days become shorter. Now that itch to make your home feel cozy is here. Here are some ways to refresh your home for fall.Â
Bring The Outside In
Fall is known for its vibrant, earthy colors. You can bring those colors in through your decor pieces. Things like pillows, throw blankets, curtains, vases, and faux plants. If you’re not into the traditional fall colors, use neutrals, such as ivory, peaches, or browns. Maybe you’re more into the rustic look so decorate with twigs and pinecones. With either choice, you’re one step closer to feeling the fall vibes in your home.
Add Layers
I had a friend tell me that one of her favorite things about fall was layering on clothes, it made her feel cozy. You can do the same in your home. Add extra fluffy, plush, soft, throw blankets on or near your couch. Change out your bedding, adding more layers with extra pillows and thicker duvets, or blankets.
Cozy Fall Scents
Vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger scents will give you that cozy fall home. You can use candles, essential oils, or potpourri. There’s nothing like being wrapped up in a warm, fluffy blanket on your couch or in the nook of a room, and enjoying a hot cup of tea while taking in the sweet smells of your fall candles. You can’t get any cozier than that!
Add A Wreath
Now that we have the inside ready for fall, what about the outside? Fall wreaths add a nice refresh to your front door, when entering your home. You can get one custom-made or put your own touch on it and make it a DIY project.
With some small inexpensive touches it is possible to refresh your home for fall. Hope this has inspired you to decorate for this fall season!
