4 Tips To Organize On A Budget

We all want to have homes that are organized yet aesthetically pleasing. But that can take a lot of money that you don’t have. So how can you create the kind of function and look that you want on a budget? I found 4 tips that should help you to organize on a budget.

4 tips to organize on a budget

Tip # 1 sell what you don’t use

3 boxes that are for keeping, donating, or selling items to organize on a budget.

Decluttering and organizing go hand in hand. When decluttering, have a box or bin that you can put any unwanted items in. Like clothing that’s either too big or too small, extra kitchen utensils, or shoes you haven’t worn in a while and probably won’t wear again. If they are still in good condition sell them.

This will helps you in 3 ways:

  1. You will have empty bins to help you organize your space, no need to go out and buy some
  2. There will be extra space to better organize your area
  3. Now you will have extra cash to keep or better yet you can use it towards the space you are organizing

I’m sure you would agree, there is not a better way to organize on a budget, when you can make money from it!

Tip #2 Use Cube Organizers

I know it may seem like everyone and their mom has a cube organizer…I have to admit I am one of them! The reason why they’re so popular is because they are super functional, affordable, AND aesthetically pleasing. They are great to use when you need to hide away certain things like craft supplies, DVD’s, cords, notebooks, toys, and more!

A cube organizer that has cube storage to hide things and decor to make it aesthetically pleasing.

Whichever room you put them in whether it’s your living room, bedroom, or playroom, it will make that room look very well put together. You can even put them in a closet or a pantry.

If you are worried about it not matching your aesthetic, you can always add some decor either on top or in the cubical itself.

And what I love most about them is how many different options there are for the actual storage cubes. They come in a wide variety of colors, patterns, styles, and affordable prices to choose from. Not only does this help you to organize on a budget but you get to make your home look good in the process.

Tip #3 Drawer Dividers

Drawer dividers to help you organize on a budget.

There are so many drawer dividers and inserts that you can buy either online or from your local store which are inexpensive. Or if you are just starting off and don’t have a lot of funds you can use cardboard.

Yes, I said, cardboard”!

You’re probably thinking how ugly and tacky is that going to look in my drawers.

I thought the same thing at first but there are options to help spruce up that piece of cardboard!

Here are 3 ideas that you could use to decorate your cardboard divider:

  1. Use contact paper that has a really strong adhesive
  2. Attach craft paper using glue or tape
  3. Use a hot glue gun or crazy glue to attach fabric

Have fun with it…view it as a little art project!

And don’t worry about it looking perfect. They will be tucked away in a drawer so if there are any little defects no one will see it.

Tip #4 Utensil Holder To Store Jewelry

A silverware holder storing necklaces and other jewelry.

I found out this hack years ago I haven’t stopped using it. Even if you don’t own a lot of jewelry it’s still very beneficial to use. It will keep everything in its place looking neat and organized. And depending on the size drawer that you use you can put multiple ones side by side.

Depending on the style, you have the option to lay out your necklaces in the longer compartments and store you rings and earrings in the smaller compartments. And the best thing about this is you can find it at your local store for a fraction of the price a traditional jewelry holder would cost.

It may take a little bit of time, patience, and creativity to organize on a budget, but it’s possible.
