Spring Clean Any Room

Spring cleaning is a time to reset and refresh. So that you can live in a clean and organized home. It can seem overwhelming so here is a guide that can help you spring clean any room.

Declutter

Go through and donate or trash anything that you don’t want or use. This will help you to clean more efficiently. This will help make the cleaning process easier. For 6 questions that will help you to declutter here is my blog ”How To Declutter”.

Open Windows

Let the mild fresh air in. I’m half German so I welcome what is called “frische Luft” at any time. It will not only improve the air in your home, but it will also improve your mood while you spring clean any room.

Cleaning Schedule

Break up your cleaning tasks per room and tackle one room per day or per week. This will help you to not get overwhelmed or burned out easily. Spring cleaning is not a race.

Top To Bottom

Starting from the highest area in the room, like those pesky spiderwebs and light fixtures. Cleaning from the top, downwards, will reduce frustration. You don’t want any dust falling on something you’ve already cleaned.

Clean Windows

Window washing can be tedious, but it’s worth it. Don’t forget the windowsills. This is the perfect time to wash or lightly vacuum the curtains to remove dust and other allergens.

Carpet and Rugs

You can rent a steam cleaner. Or if your rugs are machine washable throw them in the washing machine and let it do all the work for you. If you live in a rental like me and you’re not able to do that, sprinkle some baking soda on the carpet. Let it sit for a bit before vacuuming. It’s the perfect way to freshen them up.

Mattress and Bedding

This would be a great time to vacuum and flip your mattress. And make sure to switch out and clean your sheets and pillowcases.

Tackle The Kitchen

If you don’t do this on a regular basis, this would be the perfect time to check for expired items in your fridge or pantry. Deep clean the fridge, microwave, oven and don’t forget something as simple as the inside and outside of your cabinet doors.

Frequently Touched Surfaces

Clean light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet knobs. Anything that is frequently touched that we don’t think about often.

Spring cleaning is not only about the small details. It’s about welcoming the season with a fresh home and a sense of accomplishment. Happy cleaning!
