No Storage Hacks

Unless you have a custom built home there will always be a need for more storage. I live in an apartment so I don’t have a lot of extra storage. So I’ve had to come up with some creative storage hacks. And others that I will share are some that I found along the way that I thought could help you.

Storage Hacks By Room

Kitchen

Pantry Cabinet

I use to have a short pantry cabinet. I would store my extra canned, cartons, and jarred goods in it. What I liked the most about it is you could adjust the shelves to your liking. 

And they come in different sizes and colors to match the aesthetic of your kitchen.

Coffee Cup Rack

If you ask my husband he would say that I’m addicted to coffee cups although I am not a big coffee drinker. I can’t help myself, I think they are cute.

If you have the same addiction as me but not a lot of cabinet space, a metal coffee rack that you can hang on your wall will help. Not only will it free up your cabinets for other things but it can be a decor piece.

You can make that area where your coffee rack is into a little coffee nook. That’s what I did. But instead of using a metal rack I used a coat rack to hold the extras I had.

Open Shelving

I love this look! If I had the space in my kitchen I would use open shelving as part of my storage hacks.

It’s not hard to put up some shelves where you can display your bowls, plates, and cups. You can even add a faux plant to spruce it up a little.

Rolling Kitchen Cart

This can serve a mini island. Depending on how it’s made you will have extra room to store bread, canned goods, silverware, pots, pans, or kitchen towels. 

You can even add baskets on the shelves to hide certain kitchen items you don’t want seen. On top of that it doubles as extra counter space.

Pegboard 

If you like the modern farmhouse or rustic look you can use a pegboard to hang on the wall in your kitchen as a part of your storage hacks.

I had one before and I loved it. I had it painted red to match my kitchen colors and after I placed my pegs where I wanted them I was able to hang my kitchen items.

You can hang your kitchen utensils and if you have a pretty sturdy one possibly your smaller pots and pans. 

You can even put a mini shelf on your pegs and add a faux plant to make it look more welcoming in your kitchen.

Bedroom

Over The Door Shoe Rack

These are great when you either have a small or shared closet. Or you have more shoes than your closet can hold.

You can find them anywhere. They’re very easy to install and the best thing about it is when you close your closet door, no one will be able to know.

Cube Storage Organizer

This serves as a multipurpose piece. It can be used not only for storage but as a piece of furniture as well. You can put your pictures, T.V., or other bedroom decor on top of it.

The cube storage bins that fit into each of the squares can store and divide your shoes and clothes. And they come in different materials and colors to match what you want. 

Currently I use mine in my living room as my t.v. console and to store my D.V.D’s.

Portable Closet

This is perfect if you barely have closet space or no closet at all. The biggest pro to this is you can place your closet anywhere you want to in your room. And you get to choose what it looks like since they come in different sizes and colors.

Under The Bed Storage Bins

These are perfect to store and hide your seasonal clothing, shoes, or sentimental items.

I have a few to hold my seasonal living room decor. I’m able to fit my blankets and throw pillows in them.

Depending on how much room you have under your bed you can buy durable plastic bins that have rollers on them. Or they have ones that you zip up that slide easily under your bed.

Pegboard

Yes I have come back to the beloved pegboard. This is perfect to use when you need something to hold your craft or office supplies. 

And to make it look more homey you can even add a small picture or two.

Bathroom

Open Shelving

I just love the look of shelving above the bathroom toilet. I feel that it’s a good use of unused space. 

You can store toilet paper, paper towels, your hand towels, and other toiletries. If you don’t want them to be seen seen you can put them in a basket and set it up on the shelf. And you can even add some cute bathroom decor.

Linen Closet/Cabinet

Depending on the size of your bathroom you can choose the height and width of your cabinet/closet. You can store your toiletries along with any towels and washrags you may have.

And the same way as you would with the open shelving, you can add baskets to the shelves to discreetly store your bathroom items in them. 

Over The Door Shoe Rack

When I first learned of this hack I thought it was pretty amazing!

Just as you would with your closet door, hang it over the backside of your bathroom door and now you’re able to store any hair tools or products you may have.

Acrylic Bins/Risers

Not only are these bins aesthetic but they help you to take advantage of vertical space either in your closet or on your counters. Especially the stackable ones.

You can store your q-tips, cotton balls, toothbrushes, lotion, hand soap, and other bathroom items that you need quick access to.

Over The Door Towel Rack

We currently have one in our bathroom. We don’t have a place where you can hang multiple towels after using them so our over the door towel rack comes in real handy.

Baskets

Baskets create homes for items that originally never had one. 

I have the metal racks in my bathroom closet so it’s hard to place bottles on them without them eventually falling over. So my baskets are a life saver.

You can store your hair products, bath products, extra hand soaps, other toiletries in an organized, functional, and aesthetic way.
