As the temperature drops & the nights get longer, this is the perfect time to start thinking about cozying up your home. Here are five unique ways to cozy up your home this winter.
Layer Blankets
Nothing screams ”cozy” more than blankets. You can throw them on your couch, have a certain basket or ottoman to hold them. Or even have some layered at the bottom of your bed. You can get a simple throw blanket or better yet, a quilt or a chunky knit blanket, which will make your home feel extra cozy this winter.
Create Cozy Corners
I love it when I go into someone’s home and there is a designated spot or corner. Notch out a corner in your home for a quiet cozy moment. Or if you have a window seat, put a few extra fluffy pillows and a chunky blanket and make that you’re reading nook. You can make yourself a cup of hot chocolate or hot tea and have the perfect spot for a chilly evening.
Scented Candles
Vanilla, cinnamon, pine, cedarwood, or peppermint scents will give you that cozy winter home. Place them in your home where you will most likely smell them. Your coffee table, side table near your front door, your bedside table, or that cozy nook that we talked about earlier.
Hot Beverage Station
Create a dedicated spot in your kitchen or dining room to store your favorite teas, hot cocoa, and coffee. Make sure you have a spot for cups, spoons, and some sweet treats like mini marshmallows. Writing about this makes me wanna create one now.
Winter Playlist
Take it a step further than just making the decor in your home cozier. Set the mood by playing some soft, mellow music. I love classical/piano music. If that’s not your vibe, then play some jazz or soft indie music. Having this playlist paired with your hot cocoa, a good book, and a chunky blanket makes for a perfect cozy winter night.
It doesn’t take much to cozy up your home this winter. Just some winter scents, cozy corners, and mellow music. What do you like to do to cozy up your home for the winter? Let me know in the comments.
